Roll Over Beethoven

Well if finally happened...and of course while I was at work. 'Ring Ring Ring' "Where are you? The girl just rolled over...by herself."

Sure enough we had been waiting for this moment now for almost a month. Makayla was working hard trying to get over to her belly, which is a place she really doesn't like to be anyways. Mommy would play with her, putting toys just out of her reach on one side then the other. Makayla started getting better at lifting her feet and rolling over to her side...but not all the way. But this day was different. Mommy rushed to get the camera to see if she would do it again...and low and behold...she did!

Now, I have posted the video on the website so take a click and watch our little one overcome yet another milestone...before you know it she will be asking for the keys to the car!

Our Little Over-Achiever

Well, as most of you know Makayla's first tooth (her bottom right) came through when she turned 4 months. BUT... what some of you don't know was that 4-5 days later her second tooth (her bottom left) decided to show her pearly white face as well. Imagaine not even 4 1/2 months old and already has two teeth. When you look at her bottom gum you can actually see a couple more white/clear specks but haven't been able to see much on her top gum, this being hard because she doesn't let you look around much, only wants to chomp on whatever goes into her mouth.
She is enjoying playing with toys, rolling onto her side and laughs outloud when playing peek a boo. She is eating rice cereal morning and evening and for now still breast feeding. She has decided to bite me twice now, so it looks like we will be starting formula before she is 6 months.
Here is to some later nights, more drooling (if that is possible) and fussing while we wait to see what tooth comes next.

Happy Mothers Day to Me

Well, I had a wonderful mothers day. It started with a nice bacon and eggs breakfast with our friends Greg and Jenna...and of course Steve cooked and cleaned up the mess. Then the gifts appeared from Steve and the Kids...for starters I received a pair of 14ct gold twisted hoop earrings (very beautiful), a nice blueberry muffin candle and candle holder with a craft piece about mothers, and then to top it off a gift certificate for "Aphrodite's Indulgence" at Aquina Day Spa ( 2 1/2 hours of pampering just for me!!)
To end things off, I received one of my favourite suppers and a "Worlds greatest Mom" dairy queen cake. I guess we can say I was spoiled rotten!!

It was a perfect day...I am definitely loved in this house.

Visit to the Doctor

Makayla is now 4 months old. On Monday she had a doctors appointment to receive two needles...poor girl, a needle in each leg. She handled it very well. Some screams and a few tears but by the time we left she was fine. Doctor said she looked great. She is weighing 16 lbs and is just over 27 inches long...Dr. Weibe said she will be tall...already measuring off the charts ( I think we may have a basketball player!)
Also on Monday we started Makayla on rice cereal. She seemed to enjoy the spoon and even swallowed some of the cereal. Of course the bib had some as well. We have decided to try giving her a little bit each night and then after a week or two we will start introducing it to her in the mornings as well.
Although she still seems tired from the trip she is doing great and happy to be home...shouldn't be long before she is on her regular schedule.

Aunti Lori "Surprise...its me"

The Girls Trip To Ontario

Mommy and Me went on my first airplane ride to Ontario on April 21 and returned on May 2. On the plane down I decided to have a nice BIG diarrhea type poop on the plane (mommy had lots of fun trying to change me in the small airplane bathroom) There was no crying or fussing on the way there or back...I had lots of fun on the plane between naps.
We did alot of traveling and visiting. We stayed at grandma's for a few days and then a few days at Nannie and Grampy's. Everyone was very happy to see us.
When we were in Brantford we saw mommy's Grandma, Uncles, Brothers and Friends. They all thought I was beautiful ( looks just like a cabbage patch kid, we heard over and over).
I thought Uncle Glenn was quite funny, I was laughing outloud everytime he would talk to me...Grandma was excited to hear me laugh. Mommy's grandma (my great-grandma) was a lot of fun, she had me smiling and laughing up a storm as well.
When I saw Nannie and Grampy I gave them my famous smile which melted their hearts. While we were in Kitchener we surprise Auntie Lori...boy was she happy to see me (and I have the pictures to prove it!!). Great Nan was also surprised and very excited to see me. We had a couple nice Big family dinners at Nannie and Grampy's. I met Lynnelle and my 2nd cousin Rach...I was definitely the belle of the ball...the queen of the castle..... I guess what I'm trying to say is that I received sooooo much love.
I also received some parting gifts. I nice beautiful summer outfit from Lynnelle, a bunnykins suction bowl and spoon set from Great-Nan and a beautiful pair a diamond stud earrings from Nannie and Grampy...mommy and daddy are taking me to get my ears pierced this weekend (Oh my lord)
I am so happy to be home..I missed my daddy and brother lots.

Whew, I need a nap.
