Ready for bed

Who would think the simplest things would make these two the happiest. We are very proud of our little girl when it comes to her books, she loves reading her books and having them read to her. This picture is of the two of them having a bed time story. Awsome to see the two of them together. Notice the size, he is almost half her size.
Some one told us just the other day that they thought Landon looked just like his sister...what do you think? Some say he looks like daddy, some say mommy. We have noticed he is having a terrible time with trying to burp...poor little fella.
We took him to the movies today, 'Stardust' He didnt really like it all that much, selpt through most of it. Daddy didnt really think it was great either, but hey, it was some time out right? Next Wednesday...'The Nannie Diaries'

Birthday Boy!!

Justin, a.k.a. JK, is celebrating his 14th birthday this week, the 21st in fact. Today we had some family over to celebrate with dinner and the ice cream cake we all have come accustomed to. As kids grow older dont you find they are striving to hold onto the past but wanting to jump forward to their new life? I think at times they just want to hold onto the past to make us, the parents, happy.

Anyways, Justin will have a few friends over on his actual birthday, maybe go to the movies and have some pizza and stuff in the trailer for a sleep over. Be sure to send your b-day wishes.

14? Where has the time gone??

Camping PEI

Well, we ventured out once again with the kids, this time to Cavendish PEI. We stayed at the Sunset Campground just accross from Cavendish Beach. We had stayed there a couple of years ago, but didnt know that until we got in there. If you are looking at an all round easy place to stay, clean, affordable, close to a busy vacation...this is it. It is a large campground with Tent, 2 way and 3 way sites most in a secluded wooded large site. The extras were a bit pricy but you dont really mind, firewood $5 a bundle, movies $4.99 for old titles, and near $4 for a pizza slice that is small with little taste. But other than that, good alround place for the family to stay.
Weather was great, only one real day of rain to speak of and at that it wasnt all that much. Bugs were not to bad either, other than the rain day, they pretty much kept to themselves. Cavendish beach is beautifully clean as well, water was a bit cool but sand was nice to sit down on for a bit.
Another day, we headed to Shinning Waters Fun park. They are best known for their water slides, which are unmatched anywhere else in PEI but there is fun for the whole family, especially those 5 and under. Pricey again but then why not, in a vacation hotspot. $60 a family of 4, 3 and under free. Again, park was very clean, with lots of space for moving around.
All in all a great vacation, you can log onto flickr to view some of our pictures.

Weekend of firsts!!!

Well this has been a week of firsts. Yesterday, Thursday, daddy got to feed the boy his first bottle. Mommy was having some 'inflamation' issues so we decided to pull out the old pump and get three ounces. Later in the day when the littl guy was hungry...daddy got his turn.

Then this evening, it was the first shower for the little man and he did real well. Had his hair washed, back washed...all his 2000 parts so says his nanny.

Then his big sister decided she wanted to brush his hair. Oh ya and did I say, today was the first time that daddy has been able to make the little guy smile. Mommy usually says she can but I hadnt seen it yet...until tonight.

Long time in coming....

Crazy, this is August 9, 2007, almost a year since our last post. You would then think that there would be much to talk about...and there is. What with the wedding, honeymoon, new baby...WHAT? New baby? Yup you heard right, June 27th 2007 at about 4pm the birth of our new son, Landon Raymond Tomlin, a strapping 8lb 12oz and 21 inches long. He is now just about 6 weeks old, 23 inches long and 13lbs. He eats continuously but sleeps once in a while. Today he had his first bit of bottle, 3oz, not enough ofcourse but nice to see he took the bottle then right back to mom without skipping a beat.
Now, the young lady you see holding Landon would be his big sister. Yup, you see correctly, 2.6 years old Makayla...hasnt she grown up? She really enjoys her brother, always wanting to hold him, kiss him, feed him...pretty much everything. Her favorite saying is "me hold baby a few minutes".
So, a whole different life since a year ago, amazing how so many things can change in such a short time. Lets see if we can keep up some sort of blog now.
